The information provided on the "Registration - Re-registration" pages reflects the procedures and requirements approved by the institution as of the date of publication. However, certain provisions are subject to change due to future decisions and modifications. Thank you for your understanding.
Registration Fees
All students at the Grenoble Institute of Technology must complete their administrative registration and pay the registration fees.
Registration will be confirmed upon issuance of the student ID card after verification that the supporting documents are in conformity. It is subject to payment of the registration fees, in accordance with the annual registration fee information sheet.
The cost of registration includes mandatory and optional registration fees.
Mandatory registration fees
- Administrative registration is subject to prior payment (or exemption) of the Contribution Vie Etudiante et de Campus (CVEC).
- Tuition fees at the Grenoble Institute of Technology are based on the annual ministerial decree and a resolution of its Board of Directors. Download the registration fee information sheet.
Apprenticeship programs are exempt from registration fees.
Optional registration fees

Exemptions
- Exemptions Under National Law
-
► Automatic and Full Exemptions Under National Law
• Students awarded scholarships
Upon presentation of supporting documents, and regardless of the number of registrations at the institution, full exemption from registration fees is automatically
granted to:
- students awarded scholarships by the French government,
- students awarded scholarships based on financial need.
Scholarship recipients are required to provide:
* the final scholarship award notice for the current academic year
or
* the conditional award notice for the current academic year
or
* the final notification from the previous academic year.
In the latter two cases, it is mandatory to submit the final award notice for the current year by November 15.
- Students under the care of the State and under the care of the Republic
- Students in apprenticeship programs
- Trainees in continuing education programs under a professional training contract► Automatic fee exemption: subject to conditions regarding reciprocity, as determined by an order issued by the minister responsible for higher education
• Foreign students who are covered by an agreement with a foreign institution that exempts French students it hosts from paying registration fees, or who are participating in a European or international student exchange program that has the same effect
► Exemption from national law upon request
• Students granted temporary protection
• Students who are:
- asylum seekers
- authorized to remain in the country
- refugees - Exemptions granted by individual decision
-
In light of recent regulatory and budgetary developments, as well as the particularly high number of requests for tuition fee exemptions based on individual circumstances, such exemptions will be granted only in truly exceptional cases. Applications will be assessed against particularly stringent eligibility criteria. Likewise, the institution cannot guarantee that other forms of financial assistance will be available to all students.
Students are therefore encouraged to plan their finances in advance and ensure that they have sufficient financial resources to support themselves throughout their studies. A minimum monthly budget of approximately €900 (excluding tuition fees) is recommended to cover essential living expenses, including accommodation, food, transportation, and other day-to-day costs.

Online Registration and Re-registration
Step 1: Pay the Contribution Vie Etudiante et de Campus (CVEC)
Before you can complete any administrative registration or re-registration, you must log in to http://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr to pay (through payment or exemption) the Contribution Vie Etudiante et de Campus (CVEC). Once you have completed your online administrative registration, you will need to submit a number of documents electronically.
A list of all the documents you need to provide will be sent to you by email once you have finished entering your information.
Step 2: Register or re-register at your school
Be aware of your credit card's limits
- The use of a credit card is not unlimited. Each credit card has a limit - that is, a maximum withdrawal or payment amount that must not be exceeded over a given period. You must check this limit before paying the registration fee to avoid having your card blocked.
- If you use an “e-carte bleue,” installment payments are not permitted.
- Payment in installments (in three installments) requires a credit card with an expiration date later than the date of the final installment.
- Cash and checks will not be accepted.
Disability
If you have a disability or a chronic illness, certain adaptations may be necessary.
