ENTECH students’ visit to Azores

From May 1st to May 4th, 4 Grenoble INP-UGA ENTECH Master students (programme labelled by EIT InnoEnergy) travelled to the island of São Miguel, in the Azores (Portugal) for a unique technical visit on the theme of energy challenges in the Atlantic Islands.
25 students flew from all over Europe to participate in one of EIT InnoEnergy’s Added Value Activity organised by the Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa, in Portugal.

The programme included some free time to discover the region, a workshop on the theme of energy challenges in Azores, prepared by Electricidade dos Açores (EDA) and Electricidade dos Açores Renováveis (EDA Renováveis) and several visits among which the thermal units in Caldeirão, the Geothermal Power Plants in Ribeira Grande and Pico Vermelho and the Wind Park of Graminhais. The visits ended with an afternoon in the must-see Furnas area, known for its impressive natural landscapes.

*The Energy Technologies (ENTECH) Master is a double degree focusing on key energy disciplines from energy economics to renewable energy, with a specific focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in the field.
