Shangai 2020 - Global ranking

Published since 2003 by Jiao Tong University, the Shanghai ranking list annually ranks the world's top universities according to six criteria, including the number of publications in the two scientific journals – Nature and Science – the number of citations of these articles in referenced scientific journals, and the number of Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals awarded to students and staff of the university.

This year, Université Grenoble Alpes is among the top 100 universities in the world in the Shanghai global ranking.

Shangai 2021 – Subject rankings

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects includes more than 4,000 universities in 54 disciplines covering 5 major fields: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences.

In the top 100 of the Shanghai 2020 global ranking, Université Grenoble Alpes has consolidated its position in the recently published Shanghai 2021 subject ranking. Listed in the top 100 of the world's best universities for 18 disciplines, including 7 in the top 50, UGA is the third French university after Université Paris Saclay and Sorbonne Université in terms of the number of disciplines ranked in the top 100.
