The U!Train concept
In a nutshell, 30 students will embark on a unique journey, traveling by train from one Unite! partner university (UPC Barcelona) to another (Grenoble INP-UGA). Along the way, students will engage in various non-academic activities. Upon reaching their destination, they will continue with team-building exercises and, of course, academic work. The course, also including virtual studies before or after the September U!Train, will be worth 3 credits (ECTS).
We’ve already conducted a survey to gauge student interest in potential course themes, receiving responses from 120 students. The most popular themes were "
green travel" and "
multiculturalism."
But this is just the beginning of student involvement in the course. Unite!'s mission is to facilitate student-led planning, offering you the opportunity to shape the university of the future. This is your chance!
We invite you to come together and help us design tailor-made non-academic activities by participating in the U! Train Ideathon.
What's an Ideathon? We're glad you asked!
An Ideathon is an event where participants come together to brainstorm, develop, and present innovative ideas or solutions to specific challenges or problems. Often, there is a pitch at the end to evaluate the work.
So, what exactly happens at the U! Train Ideathon?
For five consecutive evenings, you and a group of fellow Unite! students will
generate innovative and creative ideas for the non-academic segment of the U! Train course. This can include anything from team-building activities to creative problem-solving. We have organized an engaging week of activities, all guided by the 'creative problem-solving' method to structure your ideas and build solutions.
Why should you join?
It's a fantastic opportunity to
connect online with fellow Unite! students from across Europe. Together, you will
play a crucial role in shaping the course, with a specific focus on the non-academic, team-building aspects.
Is there a prize?
The
winning team's ideas will be implemented. Additionally, if you’re still a Unite! student in 2024 and choose to apply for the U! Train course, participating in the Ideathon will
earn you 'extra points' to secure your seat on the train!
How to get involved ?
The event will take place from 27 November to 1 December 2023, from 5pm to 7pm (CET)
To register, complete the
form before 20 November 2023.
