Six visiting delegations in February and March 2023

Grenoble INP - UGA's international activity has been very intense over the last two months, with six delegations from different countries (Cambodia, Korea, Finland, Canada, Morocco and Norway).

Visit of the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (Cambodia)

Grenoble INP – UGA received the visit of a Cambodian delegation from the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), a leading national research and education institution for digital technology and innovation in this country.
CADT President, Dr. Sopheap SENG and Director of the Institute of Digital Technology (IDT), Mr. Samboeun HEAN, were received by Pierre Benech, President of Grenoble INP – UGA, and Eirini Sarigiannidou (vice-president of international relations) in order to sign a cooperation agreement as well as a student exchange agreement. In addition, academic staff from Grenoble INP - UGA will assist the CADT in setting up a Master in Computer Science in Cambodia.

Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the UGA with Kumoh National Institute of Technology (Korea)

As part of its links with Grenoble Alpes Métropole and Invest in Grenoble Alpes,a delegation from the City of Gumi (Korea) was welcomed in early March.
Among the Korean delegation, the university Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT) wished to meet the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA) in order to discuss potential collaborations in research and training. A memorandum of understanding was thus signed between the various parties. This framework will make it possible to develop application agreements, in particular promoting student mobility. Grenoble INP - UGA welcomes this opportunity to collaborate with this university but also with the economic forces present on Korean territory, such as LG and Samsung.

Visit of a delegation from Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT)

12 representatives of Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT) in Finland traveled to Grenoble INP – UGA in order to continue the collaboration with the institute of engineering and management, a collaboration that has lasted for nearly 10 years. Welcomed by Pierre Benech, Eirini Sarigiannidou and the International Development Department of the Business, Training and International Department (DEFI), the delegation met staff from three of the institution’s eight schools as well as from UGA. A visit to the G-SCOP laboratory (UMR5272, CNRS, Grenoble INP – UGA, Université Grenoble Alpes) and the GIANT innovation campus was organized to deepen knowledge of Grenoble INP – UGA and part of its ecosystem.

Reception of a strategic partner: the University of Sherbrooke
 
Sherbrooke

As part of the UGA, strategic partnerships have been established with several prestigious international universities. Among them, a delegation from the University of Sherbrooke (UdS) in Canada, whose quality of research and training is recognized worldwide, was received for two days.
Several working sessions were organized with the aim of better understanding the operations and resources of each structure in order to consider collaborations with high added value, such as the creation of a double engineering degree. The concern for SD&SR was mentioned during these meetings and is part of the common values ​​shared with the UdS.
Polytech Grenoble – INP, UGA which already had links with the UdS, remains very interested in certain themes such as smartgrids or living labs.

Reception of a Moroccan delegation as part of the opening of La Prépa des INP in Rabat
 
Rabat

A delegation from the 3 schools (ENSAM, ENSIAS & EMI) de l'Mohammed V University of Rabat (Maroc) came, under the impetus of Said Obbade (Project officer for the Mediterranean Basin) to work on the plan of the preparatory classes opening expected for September 2023 in Rabat, as part of funding from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (AURA). On the program of this stay: visit to 5 Grenoble INP - UGA schools, meeting with the directors of the institutions and Pierre Benech, President, to discuss a common future.

Welcoming a delegation of 70 students from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology

This was a first for Grenoble INP – UGA, which welcomed a delegation from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU (Norway), composed of 72 students in their 3rd year of microelectronics and two of their lecturers.
During their stay, the students were able to visit Grenoble INP – Phelma, UGA and Grenoble INP – Ense3, UGA as well as scientific and technical infrastructures such as GIANT, the CNRS or the ST Microelectronics showroom. On a more informal basis, students were invited to an evening organized by the International Student Office (BIE) on the Saint-Martin-d'Hères campus.
