Les diplômés de Grenoble INP tirent leur épingle du jeu dans un contexte défavorable

Grenoble INP graduates hold their own in adverse conditions

The graduates of French prestigious schools are doing quite well despite the economic crisis and the stagnating levels of job opportunities for executives. This is especially true for the Grenoble INP graduates as, in spite of a slight decline compared with the two previous years, the integration rate is still satisfactory and has returned to the 2009 level.

The net employment rate for the Grenoble INP 2013 graduates is 83%. This figure corresponds to the proportion of graduates pursuing a gainful activity.

Even though this figure is slightly lower than that of the previous years, it is nevertheless 3 points higher than the rate for all engineering schools in France.

These results are partly due to the fact that young engineers and especially Grenoble INP graduates very often seek out R&D positions in industrial sectors experiencing positive development or in the digital systems and information technology sector.
The sectors favoured by young Grenoble INP graduates are for example energy (27%), information and communication technologies (16%), and the aeronautics and automotive industries (16%).
More than half of these graduates work for major corporations with over 2,000 employees, and only 9% have entered small companies with less than 9 employees.

62% (compared with 66% in 2012) of all Grenoble INP 2013 graduates have found a job six months after their graduation (including Cifre (training through research) contracts). Of the remaining number, 20% have gone on to further study (of which 13% PhD, compared with 7.5% on average in engineering schools), and 13% are seeking employment (10% in 2012). More than half of these graduates signed their first employment contract before the end of their training.

80% of the young Grenoble INP engineers already working were hired under an indefinite term contract (i.e. one percent more than in 2012). Their average gross annual salary is 35,583 Euros, slightly higher than this year’s average for graduates of other engineering schools.
Finally, there are almost as many Grenoble INP engineers who have obtained their first job in Rhône-Alpes (30%) as in the Paris region (34%).
