Catherine Picart, winner of the ERC Proof of Concept 2015 grant

On 16 October 2015, the European Research Council (ERC) announced the list of the 44 winners selected during the second round of the "Proof of Concept 2015" call for proposals. Catherine Picart, a professor at Grenoble INP - Phelma and a researcher at the LMGP laboratory, is one of the 2 winners hosted by French institutions for this funding.
"Proof of Concept" grants

"Proof of Concept" grants are open to ERC award winners who wish to maximise the value of the results obtained in the context of their ERC-funded project, in order to test the innovation and commercial potential of their research. This exploratory research funding is based on a single criterion of evaluation: peer-reviewed scientific excellence.
The 44 winners of the second round will share EUR 6.6 million, out of a total of EUR 20 million devoted to the three rounds of this category for 2015, i.e. funding of EUR 150,000 Euros maximum per project over 18 months. One hundred and seven applicants participated in this second round of calls for proposals. The 136 proposals submitted during the third round are currently under evaluation and the results will be communicated in mid-December 2015. France already hosts 5 of the 45 winners of the first round announced last July and endowed with EUR 6.7 M: two at the Curie Institute, one at the CNRS, one at the CEA and one at Inserm.

A third project awarded to Catherine Picart

Following her ERC BIOMIM Starting Grant in 2010, and the ERC OSCODI Proof of Concept in 2012, now completed, Catherine Picart has just been awarded a second ERC BIOACTIVE COATINGS Proof of Concept, which is currently being contractualised.

Congratulations !
