A great start to the season for our triathletes

Lucas Damalix and Céline Tarabbia, both top-level athletes at Grenoble INP – Ensimag UGA and Grenoble INP – Phelma, UGA respectively, took part in the Challenge Riccione triathlon (Italy) on 8 May. Lucas came 1st and Céline 5th.
After a year's interruption due to the health crisis, the triathlon season has resumed. The Riccione Challenge was held in Italy on 8 and 9 May with a "sprint distance” triathlon: a 20km ride, 5km run and 750m swim.

Lucas Damalix, who is currently studying for a Financial Engineering degree at Grenoble INP – Ensim, was granted the status of a top-level athlete when he started at Les Prépa des INP in Grenoble in 2016 and is currently supported by Fondation Grenoble INP. Lucas finished 1st, 4th and 6th in the stages of the national D2 triathlon circuit in 2019 and ranked 15th in the French elite classification in 2018. He finished 1st in the opening race of Challenge Riccione, a good start to the new season!

Céline Tarabbia is entering her 3rd year at Grenoble INP - Phelma, where she is studying bioengineering and biomedical engineering. She was also granted top-level athlete status when she joined La Prépa des INP in Toulouse and is supported by Fondation Grenoble INP. She entered the international circuit in 2019 with her first European Cup experience in Mellila (Spain) and Malmö (Sweden) and, this year, finished 5th in the ranking in her first race of the season, a great performance by this athlete who is aiming for a top 2 in the European Cup.
Congratulations to both athletes for such great results!
