Research-based course

Published: March 1, 2006

The link between research and teaching is a reality at Grenoble Institute of Technology. All high-level academic teaching must be backed up with research laboratories, to promote knowledge transfer, and enable researchers to learn their trade.

Several courses have a direct research component :

The research-based master (ex DEA) is a year-long course to initiate students into research via high level scientific teaching and a research-focused placement.

A doctorate is a course that aims to teach the discipline of research, leading to careers either in the public or private sector as a researcher or research/teaching fellow. Doctorate courses are overseen by the Doctorate Schools.

The  "Diplôme de Recherche Technologique" (technological research diploma - DRT offers a vocational training course (in engineering or an equivalent), with a research placement in a company or laboratory.
