Grenoble INP heads two QS 2014 subject areas

Once again, Grenoble INP stands out amongst the world’s top universities in the Materials Sciences, "Engineering - Electrical & Electronic" and "Engineering – Mechanical" subject areas for the QS World University Rankings 2014.
After publishing its annual world’s top university ranking last September, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British market research company that provides information for students and young professionals, has just published its ranking of universities by subject area on its website (Top Universities). There are 30 different subjects grouped based on 5 major fields: Natural sciences, Life sciences & Medicine, Engineering & Technology, Social sciences & Management, and Arts & Humanities.

Grenoble INP ranks amongst the world’s top universities in 3 subject areas

MIT holds first place followed by Stanford and Cambridge, tied together at second place.
  • Engineering - Electrical & Electronic: Grenoble INP ranks amongst the 100 to 150 group (151 to 200 in 2013) as the leading French institution and the 30st in Europe. The top four are MIT, Stanford, Berkeley and Cambridge.
  • Engineering - Mechanical: Grenoble INP is included in the 151 to 200 group (not ranked in 2013 therefore ranking further than the 200th place) alongside Centrale Paris. The top 3 in this subject area are MIT, Stanford and Cambridge.
