Cybersecurity and education

In 2002, Ensimag and UJF launched a joint master's in security, cryptology and coding. The program has trained approximately 300 engineers thus far. This year, the program was reorganized to focus on risk assessment as well as cryptology and IT security. The evolution of this master's (now an M2 in France) aims to train engineers capable of overcoming the challenges created by rapid increases in computing power.
Esisar offers various training programs focused on security. As part of its strategy to expand its expertise and educational impact in this field, the school's Computer and Network program is being certified CyberEdu. The CyberEdu project was launched by the ANSSI to bolster cybersecurity training in French schools. "We cannot afford to rely on a small number of security experts. Each player in an IT system has to play a role in securing the system." underlines Yves Guido, a researcher and professor at Esisar.
Within five years, the school aims to train 50 students per year. It is an education initiative that can count on strong government support as cybersecurity is a key priority. Financial support is also provided by companies and local authorities thanks to partnerships such as Projet NuméricLab or PlA-07. The evolution of the ecosystem's cybersecurity programs is designed to facilitate cooperation on cybersecurity issues and improve our ability to anticipate and react to threats.
