U-Multirank 2017: Grenoble INP stands out again

U-Multirank ranking has been released on March, 30, 2017. This worldwide ranking of higher education institutions managed by the European Union ranks this year 1 497 institutions from 99 countries, according to 35 criteria organized in 5 groups and rated on a scale from 1 (very good) to 5 (weak) : teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional implication.

Le Monde French newspaper highlights “In France, this ranking offers an original view of higher education. Multirank sets apart 2 business schools followed by several engineering schools: Edhec (17 A-grades, on 35 criteria) and Essec (16 A on 35), Telecom Paris Tech (15/35), Centrale Lyon (13/35) and Grenoble INP (13/35). The study specifies that those 3 French engineering schools also rank in the world top 25 in terms of research co-publication with industrial partners.


 
Grenoble INP stands out of the crowd for:
  • Research: top grade (1) on 3 of the 8 criteria: number of publications, shares in the most cited publications or number of PhD students.
  • Knowledge transfer: co-publication with industrial partners’ rate, number of patents, publications quoted in those patents.
  • International: student mobility, foreign teachers’ rate, international co-publications’ rate and international thesis’ rate.
  • Regional implication: high rate of co-publications within the region
