The Grenoble Institute of Technology's Summer Program will be held from June 4 until July 6, 2012.
During the first morning, students will be warmly welcome by our Deputy Vice President, instructors and the Summer School Staff.


Get a real life experience!

First of all, participate in our Summer Program means that you will meet students from all over the world, have courses with renowned experts and distinguished professors. This is an exciting opportunity to study in an intercultural group, discover Europe, France, Grenoble and its specifics aspects in a short time!  Come and meet local people and French scientists, earn credits, learn survival French (historical and cultural aspects), get an excellent curriculum opportunities, go for a multicultural experience, receive personalized support, have a special taste of the French way of life!

  • Science courses (57 hours) (given by experts of Minatec Research Centre, Grenoble INP, Politecnico di Torino and EPFL Lausanne)
  • 2 specific minor, one on NanoElectronics, one on NanoBiology
  • Seminar on Nano Ethic (2 hours)
  • Lab work (16 hours) @ CIME Nanotech plaform (a set of 8 technological platforms unique in Europe, dedicated to training and research in the fields of Microelectronics and Nanotechnology)
  • Intercultural courses (12 hours)
  • International Week-End, Outdoor activities, oenology classes (Wines "Tour de France"...)

Eligibility:
This program is open to full time engineering students (Bachelor level).

Fees and other costs: 1,100 which include:
  • Participation in all courses
  • Participation in excursions and trips around Grenoble
  • Spacious rooms in a student's Residence Hall
  • Wireless internet access
  • Health and housing insurance during your stay
  • EPFL Lausanne (Switzerland) and Politecnico di Torino (Italy) campuses visit

Students will be responsible for their own meals, personal transportation and personal expenses and flight to and from France.

Please note that places are strictly limited (40 places)

  • Step 1 Inform your home university that you want to register at our Summer School 2011
  • Step 2 You can register online (click here) before April 16th, 2012.
  • Step 3 After you have registered, please follow all the instructions you will receive by email from the Grenoble INP's International Office.

 Apply as soon as you can especially for those who will have to follow a visa process.

Accomodation
Students will be accommodated in single or double rooms in a Résidence Hall. The rooms are fournished with a single bed. Rooms are equipped with Internet connections.

Beyond scientific aspects and labworks, students will have the opportunity to explore the diversity of Grenoble, capital of the French Alps, surrounded by 3 mountain ranges. The "base camp" for various activities conduct after the courses and with the support of the Student Board. You will become familiar with European culture (gastronomy, history, social activities, famous areas...) thanks to the Student Board and its great experience! During this first evening, we'll explore all the major French wine areas and their diversity. So we will discover both dry and sweet white wines as red wines with varying characteristics. These two sessions are organized by the very active Oenology Club of Grenoble Institute of Technology.
