Opening a bank account

Students should open a bank account as soon as they get to Grenoble. The Grenoble INP International Student Board has negotiated a special arrangement with Société Générale, whereby students can open an account free of charge and receive €30 when the account is opened, and another €30 three months later.  For more information, contact the International Student Board at students.bi@inpg.fr

Students must find housing for their stay in Grenoble. Proof of residency (needed to open a bank account in France) is typically not given unless a student provides proof of renters insurance. The Grenoble INP International Student Board has negotiated a special arrangement with MAE, a French insurance provider, for renters insurance (for a room or apartment) for foreign students.
