Grenoble INP supports six laboratories
around the world

Grenoble INP has built major partnerships with laboratories in Vietnam, Japan, China, and Mexico. These partnerships take the form of mixed international units (UMI) or international associate laboratories (LIA). Below is a full list of Grenoble INP's international laboratories.

 

LITAP Laboratory (Canada)
LITAP (Laboratoire International de Technologies et Applications des Plasmas) is a partnership among institutions in France (CNRS, UJF, and Grenoble INP) and Quebec (INRS-EMT and the University of Montreal). It combines their strengths and skills so as to better face increasing global competition for new plasma technology applications.

MICA Laboratory, Vietnam
Grenoble INP has been working closely with Vietnam for almost 20 years, in association with the Hanoi Polytechnic Institute, CNRS, and French and Vietnamese companies. The MICA (Multimedia, Information, Communication, and Applications) Laboratory in Hanoi is the fruit of a 20-year partnership between Grenoble INP and Vietnam's Polytechnic Institutes.

FV-PPL, Vietnam
FV-PPL (France-Vietnam Particle Physics Laboratory) performs research on nuclear physics, particle physics, and grid computing.

LAS2M, China
Grenoble INP, CNRS, and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology have joined forces to create an international laboratory focused on advanced materials, as part of a strategy to build stronger ties with Asia. This partnership also emphasises teaching and maintaining close links with industry. Grenoble has been working with Xian, the capital of Shaanxi province, since the 1980s.

LAFMIA (Mexique)
LAFMIA (LAboratoire Franco-Mexicain en Informatique) specialises in building prototype software. It is backed by two coordinating centres - one in Grenoble (Fédération IMAG-Institut d'Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquées de Grenoble) and one in Jalapa, the capital of Veracruz (Laboratorio Nacional de Informatica Aplicada) - as well as a network of laboratories in both France and Mexico.

Le Readilab (Japon)
Readilab is an international laboratory associated with CNRS. It has 22 Japanese researchers and 23 French researchers specialised in mathematics, biology, medicine, and chemistry.

Research
 
Grenoble INP has 29 internationally-recognized laboratories employing 2,400 people, including 1,000 researchers and teaching faculty, 800 PhD students, 100 post-doc students, and 500 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
