
Grenoble INP provides French courses for foreign students throughout the year; these courses are mainly given by the Alliance française of Grenoble teachers.
Intensive and extensive courses
Smile, you're in France! That means you have to know enough French to make yourself understood, understand what your professors are saying, and take exams.
A level of French at least A2 in CECR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is strongly recommended. (see the Language Skills Self-Assessment Grid)
4 sessions per year (20 hours per session)- Two weeks of intensive French courses - 4 hours / day during 5 days
(From August, 29th to September 2nd, 2011 and from January, 23rd to 27th, 2012)

- Two extensive sessions of French courses - 2 hours/week from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
(1st semester: from September, 19th to December 9th, 2011 and 2d semester: from February 20th to May 11th, 2012)

Course objectives
- Improve understanding and production oral and written skills
- Understand and produce different types of oral and written production (fluent French and / or specific)
- Become familiar with the French academic and social environment (context and methodology)

Who can enrol?French courses are intended
for foreign students enrolled at Grenoble INP in exchange programmes, dual-degree international programs and any student for whom French courses is compulsory (see with your INP school).
How to register?Registration is done via the on-line application
or with the person in charge of International Relations of your school. French courses convocation
You will be summoned to the French courses by email (1 or 2 weeks before classes start). You will receive all information (your level, rooms, map and teacher).

- After receiving the confirmation of your login and password by e-mail, you will be able to take the test.
You will need about an hour to complete the test.
In your own interest, we strongly advise you to stick to the guidelines!
NOTE: This test is not a exam, it helps us determine your level of language.Deadlines to take the mandatory* online test: - for intensive week of August AND for 1st semester: July 10th 2011

Please, be careful! Taking the test does not automatically enrol you in a French course. Your school international programme director will confirm enrolment in the extensive French courses. In addition, the Bureau International Etudiant organises events for foreign students to learn more about Grenoble and the university environment.
