How do I apply ?It is very simple, Please follow those instructions to register:
- Step 1 Inform your home university that you want to register at our Summer School 2012
- Step 2 You can register online (click here) before April 16, 2012.
- Step 3 After you have registered, please follow all the instructions you will receive by email from the Grenoble INP's International Office.
Is there a deadline to apply?Deadline is 16 of April 2012.
Can I get a refund in case of cancellation?Grenoble Institute of Technology will keep 20% of the amount in case of cancellation. No reimbursing will be possible once in Grenoble.
Do I need a visa?Please check the web site of the French ministry of Foreign Affairs or ask your home university.
How can I pay the fees?After your application has been accepted, you will have to pay the fees (1,200 € by online Payment to Grenoble INP.
The 1,100€ registration fees don't include transfer fees, these will be directly paid by the student.
Is the French Culture course compulsory?No.
May I fill out the Application Form myself?Yes, the required information and documents have to be uploaded by the student himself.
What is the equivalent of one ECTS credit?The European Credit Transfer System ECTS was developed by the European Commission in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad.
Exemples:
Italy1 italian credit (CFU) = 1,5 ECTS
Brasil1 crédit brésilien = 1,5 crédits ECTS
Canada1 canadien credit = 2,5 ECTS
United States of America1 american credit = 2 ECTS

Do I need to speak French?No. Yet, it helps sometimes to communicate in the city. We can offer cultural French and French immersion course to help you integrate a new culture.
Where do I stay?In a renovated Residence Hall. Grenoble Institute of Technology has signed a contract for the lenght of the Summer Program. Each student will stay in a room (one person per room) all equipped.
Is housing included in the Summer School fees?Yes it is. But you will have to pay a 120 euros housing deposit (reimbursement one week after your departure)
What is included in the fees and costs?- Participation in all courses
- Science, intercultural and french courses
- Actvities and weekends organized by the Student International Board
- Visits of research centers and companies
- Participation in excursions and trips around Grenoble
- One month Trolley/bus lines tickets
- Housing in a Student's renovated Residence Hall
- Health and housing insurance during your stay
When can I move into my room and until when can I stay? Accomodation is provided from Saturday June 2th until Sunday, July 2nd included. Possibility to stay until Sunday July 8th (noon).
3 or 4 days before checking out, you must fix a date with the Residence Hall staff members (reception desk) in order to check with them that there are no damages in your room.
If no damages are noticed by the staff, the €120 housing deposit will be reimbursed to you within 1 week.
Can I get a double bedroom?No, it is not possible.
Can a friend or relative (not registered in your Summer Program) be accommodated at the Residence Hall?No, it will not be possible for him/her. This person will have to arrange his/her own accommodation in Grenoble.
