Grenoble Institute of Technology (http://www.grenoble-inp.fr) organised on January 28th, 2010 a get-together session with 10 Euro Brazilian Window II candidates.

EBW II is an Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window exchange programme which focuses on the mobility of students from undergraduates to post-doctorates, as well as academic staff. It is a consortium of 10 Brazilian and 10 European universities and was successfully launched in 2008. In 2009-2010, 13 undergraduates and 1 researcher have been selected among the best in Brazil. 2008-2009 welcomed 6 undergraduates, 4 doctorates, 1 post-doctorate and 1 researcher. Teachers and students from Grenoble INP have been in Brazil last year and 4 of them have been awarded an Erasmus Mundus grant to study among one of the 10 institutional partners in 2010.

This informal meeting was an opportunity for the selected Brazilians to give their feedback about the organisation of an Erasmus Mundus mobility programme.
After a brief presentation of each candidate, his/her mobility type and university of origin and the field of studies, several topics were tackled: visa, welcome, French language courses, accommodation problems, courses, cultural activities, administrative procedures, ECTS validation process... Good practices emerged, especially as far as visa preparation, French courses and financial support processes were concerned.
The good news is that EBW II students have been highly satisfied and pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome in Grenoble INP! Welcome again to them!
