Visionix wins 2012 business start-up prize

Grenoble INP - Alumni organised the business start-up competition for the seventh year running, a prize that rewards the best projects developed by engineering students as part of the CECA (Business Start-Up / Creating Business) course module. The competition is run in collaboration with the Enterprise and Innovation unit at Grenoble INP.

A jury made up of entrepreneurs and heads of industry met to enjoy presentations on the business projects and plans submitted by the students, which were marked according to five objective criteria: innovation, feasibility, benefits for society and the environment, industrial prospects and commercial opportunities.

This year there were three projects that stood out and were awarded prizes:
· 1st prize: Visionix, an augmented reality project for cultural sites
· 2nd prize: Easy-vélo, a bike equipped with a controllable, uninterrupted gear-changing system
· 3rd prize: KineZik, an application that recommends music

For some of these projects, the students are keen to convert the trial into something more concrete and move from simulation to a business start-up. Anyone going all the way will be able to benefit from the support of the La Houille Blanche de Grenoble association.
