Lab: photovoltaic solar cells

Detailed prerequisites: Semiconductor fundamentals (PN Junction)

Objective of the course/learning outcomes:
The aim of these lectures is to discover the silicon technology processing, taking the example of the realisation of the first generation of Photovoltaic Solar Cells. Each student will realize himself with a solar cell, starting from silicon material and ending by the electrical characterisation in clean room environment, using the facilities at Minatec university clean room (CIME).

Labwork: 20 hours, including 16 hours in clean room environment and 4 hours of electrical characterisation.

Teaching language: English

Detailed examination modalities: pass / fail
