With its 6 engineering schools, Grenoble INP Institute of engineering Univ. Grenoble Alpes educates students to understand and meet societal challenges of tomorrow in fields such as energy, digital society, micro & nanotechnologies, environment and industry of the future. International master's courses

Our international Masters are fully taught in English, and specifically tailored for international students, with services such as French classes and administrative support. Yearly tuition fees start at 4000 euros (click on the links for more information).

Languages that are most used in the classes: French – Some degrees are fully taught in English (see above)

Requirements for exchange programs:
The exchange program guidelines establish that student must have sufficient knowledge of the French language. To attest the level in French and/or English, student must provide either an official test, a certificate from a language instructor stating the CECR level equivalence.

For basic exchange students:
  • classes taught in French: B1 level is recommended, according to the CECR
  • classes taught in English: A2 level is recommended
  • Ense3 school recommends a B1 level for the Hydraulics, Civil & Environmental engineering specialization and the Energy Systems & Associated markets specialization
  • Phelma school recommends a B1 level at least in the language of instruction of the specialization or the master

Academic Calendar :

The academic year is divided into two semesters, the first one starts at the beginning of September until the end of January and the second one stretches from January till the end of June. The start and end dates of classes are different from one school to another and depend on the level at which student enter the school. Please refer to the host school to know exactly when the semester is beginning and ending.
  • The first year of studies is composed by Semester 1 (fall semester) and 2 (spring semester).
  • The second year of studies is composeb by Semester 3 (fall semester) and 4 (spring semester).
  • The third year of studies is composed by Semester 5 (fall semester)
  • Semester 6 is devoted to an internship  and the Master Thesis which lasts a minimum of 5 months.

Housing: 210 to 600 € per month depending on the type of accommodation
Food: about 200€ per month
