European Geopolitics

Objectives of the course:
- To get historical and juridical knowledge about the EU
- To understand what an Europeanization of foreign policy means and implies for the State members and candidate countries
- To get knowledge about the evolution of European structures, and debates among State members about the future of the European Neighborhood Policy

Themes covered:
- Conditions of the European Union's creation, as well as the successive treaties which progressively constituted the EU
- Attempts to create an emerging European diplomacy, through institutional and military means
- European Neighborhood Policy and its implications for its external partners
