QS classification by institution: Grenoble INP 4th French institution

The international QS World University Rankings by Faculty® - Engineering & Technology 2015/2016 has been published. Grenoble INP, 199th in the world ranking with a score of 68.1 points, comes in 4th place for France, behind Ecole polytechnique (81st with 76.3 points), Centrale Paris (153rd with 70.8 points) and Pierre and Marie Curie University (186th with 69.1 points). The UJF comes in the 5th position with 66 points and comes 228th in the world ranking, followed by Mines ParisTech and INSA of Lyon.
This classification, which is intended to help students choose their institution, is based on an evaluation of the research, training, employability of graduates and internationalisation. A note is assigned for each of 6 performance indicators for a maximum score of 100 points: reputation in the academic world (40% of the mark), reputation with employers (10 %), student-to-faculty ratio (20 %), impact of the research (number of citations) (20 %), international faculty ratio (5 %) and international student ratio (5%).

For the record, Grenoble INP was 3rd in 2014 (193rd in the world ranking with 71.4 points), behind Polytechnique and the UPMC, and followed by the UJF, Centrale Paris and INSA of Lyon.
